Activists from Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine and the famous actor Khaled Abol Naga and the writer Robert Fisk going to be in Istanbul between 18-19 November 2011 for the first Nahda Network summit.
Nahda Network summit is going to take place at the Point Hotel, Taksim-Istanbul. Together with the famous actor Khaled Abol Naga, activists from Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine will tell their extraordinary stories of revolution. Robert Fisk, who is considered to be one of the most prominent Middle East experts of the world, and Turkey’s Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış will be speaking at the summit as well.
Aiming to create a new platform for young activists from the Middle East region to share their stimulating and encouraging stories with each other and the world, and to voice their demands regarding the post-revolution period more effectively; Nahda Network strives to contribute to the foundation of a better future for the region by opening up new channels of dialogue, and forging closer bonds between the pro-democracy youth of the Arab countries and Turkey.
Taking its name from the Arabic word for “enlightenment”, Nahda Network is supported by the Young Civilians (Genç Siviller).
