Gerhard Wolf is director of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence. He is the author, most recently, of Facing the Wall: The Palestinian-Israeli Barriers (2011, with Avinoam Shalem); Schleier und Spiegel. Traditionen des Christusbildes und die Bildkonzepte der Renaissance (2002); Volti di Cristo (2006) co-authored with Ludovica Sebregondi, and Die Nacht der Bilder, co-authored with Philine Helas. He has curated several exhibitions including Il Volto di Cristo (2000/01), Georgia – Medieval Monuments (2008); Imagines en vuelo – Images take flight. Feather Art between Mexico and Europe, 1300–1700(2011).
