Boğaziçi University Department of History, Department of Sociology and Department of Political Science and International Relations will host American linguist and political critic Noam Chomsky on January 18, 2013 at the annual Hrant Dink Memorial Lecture on Freedom of Expression and Human Rights.
Noam Chomsky will present a speech entitled ‘Turkey and the Emerging World Order’ at the conference that will be held at Boğaziçi University Albert Long Hall at 15:00 p.m.
Hrant Dink Memorial Lecture, held annually at Boğaziçi University, was initially organized on the first anniversary of Hrant Dink’s assassination, hosting Indian activist and novelist Arundhati Roy. The lectures that followed were by British human rights lawyer Sir Geoffrey Bindman in 2009, Canadian journalist, writer and activist Naomi Klein in 2010, British actor, human rights and LGBT activist and member of European Parliament Michael Cashman in 2011 and Egyptian human rights activist and academician Rabab El-Mahdi in2012.
